ARCTIC
- GREENLAND
You cannot help but be impressed when diving in Greenland. It is a total experience with the sights underwater reinforced by the view from the surface. After diving a shipwreck that very few people have seen or unique nature dives, you come up to a landscape of mountains, glaciers or heavyweight icebergs drifting by. Whilst diving you will almost certainly see catfish and lumpsucker, forests of sugar tongs with 4-6 meter long leaves and fire-red corals. You can collect scallops for supper too. Whilst sailing it is almost impossible not to see whales and seals. If lucky we will be able to come close to humpback whales.
It is not unusual to see Lesser Rorqual. In April Narwhal and Belugas go north and during October they go back south. This gives us a chance to see the animals, but it takes luck. The diving takes place in the waters between Sisimiut just north of the polar circle, and Ilulissat that lies in Disko bay 250km north as the bird flies. During the 7 days trip we sail about 200 nautical miles (360km). The focus is, of course on diving, including shipwrecks, drift dives and nature areas. But it would be a shame to go to Greenland without spending some time on land. Therefore, as well as diving from a boat there will be visits to some
towns with the possibility for There are fantastic hiking opportunities at all of our locations and the breathtaking scenery makes a bit of effort worthwhile. If you are more inclined towards shopping for handicrafts and hanging out in a café with an espresso or a beer we have you covered. The trip is planned with overnight stays at comfortable hotels. There is also a single night onboard Sirius. Whilst at sea you are welcome to fish for your supper.
