KAS Kas lies on the coast between Fethiye and Antalya with a beautiful position nesting below the Taurus Mountains where life continues as it has for the centuries, with only passing nod to tourism. Now only the Lycian rock tombs, sarcophagi and a theatre are left in Kas but the charm of the town remains. As you wander the narrow cobble streets full of colourful shops where you can find anything from inevitable handmade carpets to leather goods, ceramics, silver items, art and crafts. Kas has an attractive harbour front along which tea gardens; cafés and restaurants are to be found where you can sip your drink and look over the clear waters of the Mediterranean towards the islands. A day trip to see the sunken city of Kekova is a must where the site of a dramatic earthquake many centuries ago left the city torn apart and now only partially visible. Across the bay is Kale, reachable only by boat, where a picture book crusader castle dominates the tiny fishing village. Kas makes a superb base for exploring the extraordinary wealth of historical sites that lie scattered around the ancient kingdom of Lycia. The whole Kekova area is so fascinating that it easily merits several visits, but as there is little suitable accommodation found here, we recommend using Kas as a comfortable base from which to discover Kekova’s marvels as well as charm on its own not to mention the best diving in the Mediterranean. |

Aqua Park **** The Aqua Park is exceptional property on the Kas Peninsula offering comfort beauty and tranquillity. The large swimming pool and children's pool are set into the terraces on the steep hillside, leading down to the sea, where there are sun terraces and steps leading into the water. Children will love the fun waterslides, which can be used at certain times of the day and they also have a mini club in high season. There are a number of bars, including a pizza bar open at lunchtime. Due to the location, there are a lot of steps, so it is not recommended for anyone who has difficulty in walking. There is a choice of hotel or self-catering accommodation, built into the steep hillside. Standard rooms have en suite facilities, air conditioning, telephone, TV and balcony. Family rooms have air conditioning in the bedroom only and also have a separate living room with two single sofa beds, TV and mini-bar. The one-bedroom apartments have a bedroom, shower room with WC and an open plan air-conditioned living room with kitchenette – fridge and cooking rings, a TV and 2 single sofa beds. |

Hotel Phellos is only 150 meters from Small Pebble Beach with sun loungers, parasols and 10 minutes from the town centre. Hera Hotel ****+ This impressive hotel located only 10 minutes stroll from the centre of Kas and right on the seaside. The terrace restaurant next to the swimming pool and the breakfast rooms are looking over the crystal clear waters of the bay. The facilities include Turkish bath, sauna and massage room. Crossing the quiet road from the hotels, step lead down to the sea, past sunbathing terraces and the bar serving snacks and cold drinks. All rooms are air-conditioned and all have at least a partial sea view. A five minute stroll to the sea gives you the opportunity to snorkel on your doorstep or soak up the rays whilst watching the ships come and go from Kas harbour. The two apartments are fully air conditioned with two bedrooms, two shower rooms, and well equipped kitchens, including dishwasher. 2A has a double and twin with two sofa beds, whilst 3A has 2 doubles with a single sofa bed in one room. We can therefore accommodate large parties or smaller families. We have tried to provide home comforts (cotton sheets, washing machine, iron, board and hairdryer) whilst still keeping a Turkish feel. There is wireless internet available in both apartments and both lounges have a library of books and CD's as well as a TV and DVD's. There is no terrestrial or satellite television. |
