Diving

Zanzibar DivingDiving in resort can be accommodated at the nearby 5 star PADI Resort just along the beach from the resort. Dive packages start from £108.00 for 5 dives (weights, tank). With many popular sites experienced scuba divers can enjoy exciting wall dives, night dives and drift dives. In deeper waters, lush coral gardens often stretch as far as the eye can see, and large pelagic gamefish (barracuda, kingfish, tuna and wahoo) hunt together with large Napoleonic wrasse, graceful manta rays and sharks. Shallower waters are the play ground of tropical fish, including a huge variety of Indo-Pacific marine fauna. Some of Zanzibar’s best diving is to be found on the north coast. Explore the many popular dive sites including Nankivel, a large coral head, Leon’s wall – a superb wall dive with several caves and humpback whales in September and Kichwani, a nice shallow drop off with big fan coral and schools of dolphins, snappers, sweet lips and big-eyes. Diving in Zanzibar is ideal for novices and experts alike..

Diving

The variety of sea-life on the coral reefs is immense, with regular sightings of dolphins, manta rays, turtles and reef sharks and seasonal sightings of whale sharks during Aug - November. Typical dive sites include: The Big Wall, (an incredible wall dive off the Mnemba Atoll, descending to 35m). Leven Banks, (a massive reef structure 7 miles out to sea) and Kichafi, (an excellent coral reef and great for night dives close to the resort). Depths of most reefs range between 12m to 40m, & year round average water temperature is 27 degrees Celsius. Visibility is typically excellent. Diving is fantastic between June – November although it is considered generally good year round. Dive packages start from £159.00 for 6 dives (tanks and weights)
