CARIBBEAN - TOBAGO

Wind DancerMade up of hundreds of islands of various sizes the Caribbean island chain has a total landmass of a little over 18,000 square miles, that's less than Great Britain.

These tropical islands stretch along a curved line of almost 4000 km in length from the Florida peninsula and the north eastern coast of Venezuela.

They are divided into several island groups: mainly the low lying sand and coral spits of the Bahamas and Florida keys, and the more mountainous volcanic formed Lesser and Greater Antilles.

The Lesser Antilles are comprised of the Windward Islands to the north east know as the Hurricane belt and the Leeward Islands to the more sheltered south.

It is here at the southern most tip of the chain that you will find the tropical paradise of Tobago. The two Extra Divers Tobago dive centres are conveniently situated at either end of the island. In the south, close to the famous Pigeon Point beach is the Crown Point dive centre. To the north, at Speyside, the second Tobago centre was opened in January 2005.

Crown Point - Diving Centre

Spectacular bays, pristine rain forest, waterfalls and unspoiled beaches with crystal clear water as well as first class dive sites will make your holidays unforgettable. The Extra Divers Centre is situated at the sheltered southwest coast of Tobago in the heart of the cosy touristy town Crown Point. The Surf Side Hotel which is located on the road to the famous beach "Pigeon Point" is home of the dive shop.

Speyside - Diving Centre

Nestled between the foothills of Tobago's highest mountain and the golden beach of Speyside bay, the Nabucco Resort Speyside Inn and Dive Centre has spectacular unhindered views across the water and out to the nature reserves of Little Tobago and Goat Island.

At Speyside there are some 20 dive sites all within five minutes boat ride and many more which are less than 20 minutes away. Transfer time from Crown Point International Airport to Speyside is about one hour. As in all our Extra Divers Worldwide facilities you will find our Tobago locations uphold the highest international quality and safety standards.

Extra Divers Tobago is member of the PADI Resort Association and of the Tobago Dive Operator Association. Extra Divers diving boats always carry DAN O2 kits, marine VHF radio and a recompression chamber is located in Roxborough, approx. 30 mins from either dive centre.
